| CANADIAN OCCUPATIONAL PROJECTION SYSTEM (COPS) | Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) uses COPS to develop 10-year projections of future labour demand/supply at the national level. COPS focuses on trends underlying demand (such as expansion or replacement) and supply (such as school leavers and new immigrants). The forecast is produced every two years. COPS projections for a particular industry will show employment, retirements, job openings, and other replacement demand. COPS also produces occupational projections. |
